Virtual Silva Rosa: a responsability to the planet and to the families

SilvaRosa is a company that reinvents itself at each moment. As the "green companies" grow larger, some practices SilvaRosa already applied in its own administration began to be a part of a service portfolio that is now used by its partners and clients.

Since 2002, SilvaRosa had about 50 percent of its world wide efective in a modal named Home Office - where its colaborators worked most of the time in their houses or personal offices and sometimes used SilvaRosa offices, spread around 56 coutries, for its professional activities that depended on the interaction with clients or work coleagues. This strategy pleased clients, colaborators and even his families, and it worked so well that the company decided to expand this practice.

From 2008 and on, SilvaRosa adopted a strategy of Home Office to virtualize 90 percent of the administrative offices, engineer centers and technical labs. With that, the gain from the electricity, gas and public transportation saving reached 83 percent. SilvaRosa is also ceasing the emition of 2 tons of CO2 a year, equivalent to 1260 colaborators making from 2 to 4 daily trips, between cars and public transportation.

SilvaRosa, its colaborators and clients only have to win with this new practice:

Agility - with Home Office, its colaborators can count on virtual access available 100 percent of the time. The consultors has now administration funded on time and resources, a paradox of the modern way of living: more time to the company and more time to the family.
Paper saving - with the intensive use of email, intranet, and on-line messenger, the documentation printing was reduced 92 percent. The access to confidential information is now safer and controled. With that we increased the safety of sensitive documents, with no longer are sliced and are not available - even if for minutes - on the desk.
Better communication - internal communication is now better driven and productive. Video and audio conferences quicken the decision making, and increase the understanding of the projects, besides assuring the confidentiality on the subject.
Physical space - its employees and consultors ocupy less space. That decreased drastically expense with actives, increasing each professional productivity. Now each one organizes at their own preferencies, not depending on the work time and is now at ease to have on the desk what it's necessary, without stumbling on the coleagues.

For that, the new SilvaRosa structure counts on level "c2" security systems - one of the safests on the planet - besides one GRID of servers, that are 100 percent available all the time with communication infra-structure based on VPN with IPV6 - the new internet protocol. An investment that is quickly returned trough the economy generated, besides doing a great good to the planet and to the families.

Even in the SilvaRosa offices that remains on the 56 coutries, we generate economies with the use of practices and techniques that avoid energy waist, less garbage generation and maximum reuse of raw material. Since the creation of disposable paper cups on 1996, SilvaRosa internal practices have always seeked for the rational use of matter, energy and time of its colaborators. We go on like this and we will always search for increasing our eficiency and productivity.
